Honu‘apo is a not-for-profit, community service organization. The corporation’s mission is to preserve, protect and perpetuate the health of Native Hawaiians.
Keiki Ola Pono, Honu‘apo’s flagship community service program, is a nutrition education curriculum, created by a registered dietitian, which educates preschool-aged children of Native Hawaiian ancestry and their families on age-appropriate nutrition. It is designed to establish healthy eating habits early in the life of Native Hawaiians that will lead to life-long, healthy behaviors and outcomes. In just a few short years, almost 1,000 preschoolers and their primary care givers have participated in the Keiki Ola Pono program.
