| Mission |
“To protect, promote, and advance business opportunities for Native Hawaiian Organizations.”
NHOA’s Mission Statement is rooted in the legislative intent of the Native 8a program, which seeks to provide economic opportunities within Native communities. The success of the 8a participant is inherently linked to the fulfillment of their NHO mission. NHOA thus serves to enhance the successes of firms, the continued legislative support, and therefore the economic and social impact on the Native Hawaiian community. |

| Values |
In support of fulfilling NHOA’s mission, the purposes of the Association are:
- Hui ‘ia. To unify, for mutually beneficial purposes, the efforts of those organizations which qualify under federal small business law as Native Hawaiian Organizations and are members;
- Lawelawe. To facilitate the development of the community serves programs that each member Native Hawaiian Organization is required to establish, fund and maintain;
- Maika‘i loa. To assist member Native Hawaiian Organizations in their business dealings so that they operate with excellence and Kūpono, adhere to the highest standards of business ethics;
- A‘o. To instruct and mentor member Native Hawaiian Organizations who are new to the business so that they may be successful; and,
- Hō‘ike. To educate and inform the general public of the benefits and good works that such Native Hawaiian Organizations are doing.
